It’s time to get funky with All We Are’s new track “I Wear You.” The sway-inducing single provides the first taste of the Liverpool-based trio’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, due out on Jan. 6, 2015 via Double Six / Domino. The track’s accompanying video, directed by Kate Moross, brings to life the album art by Leif Podhajsky. The track is recommended for fans of Jungle.
Jimmy Giannopoulos (LOLAWOLF, Reputante, MOTHXR) shares the video for “Outer Space,” the debut track from his side project monikered G. The song features strong, haunting vocals from singer Genevieve.
The video, directed by Mia Lidofsky and produced by Riel Roch Decter, finds Genevieve at a State Fair in Shreveport, Louisiana. Genevieve spends much of the video on the ferris wheel, which gave Lidofsky a chance to capture the “beauty and intense feelings in every beat and breath of the song… . the colors, the weirdness, the magic, the fun, and the loneliness of it all.” Watch above.
Jessie Ware plays it coy on her new track “Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe.” The English songstress collaborated with rnb crooner Miguel, who lends audible sexy coos in the backdrop. The sleek + seductive track may be our favorite preview of Ware’s forthcoming album, Tough Love, due out on Oct. 13/21.
HONNE made an impressive debut with soulful track “Warm On A Cold Night.” They quickly follow up with “Baby Please,” the luscious b-side. As the title suggests, this one’s a love song. HONNE’s Warm On A Cold Night / Baby Please EP is set for release on Sept. 22 via Super Recordings.
Mysterious British collective Bedlam share new track “Closer” featuring songstress Paris Carney. A silky pulsating backdrop sets the stage for Carney’s strong vocals as this revenge song unfolds. The single is out now via SBR.
British artist Deptford Goth is set to release his sophomore album Songs on Nov. 3. He shares a second taste of the forthcoming album with new track “Two Hearts.” Judging from the emotion in DG’s voice and the tender, slow burning melody, we’re betting someone special inspired this song. Have a listen above.
Sydney duo Twin Caverns continue to intrigue with new track “Drown.” Slow-paced + smoldering, the track follows excellent prior shares “Undiscover” + “Swell” released earlier this year. Check out/revisit those songs here.
LA duo Made In Heights share ear-tickling new track “Ghosts.” The groove on this is undeniable; producer Shabazi crafts an ethereal indie pop background over which singer Kelsey Bulkin delights with breathy vocals. The duo will be heading on tour opening for Tokimonsta. Dates here.
Berlin-via-Toronto singer Sway Clarke II ventures to London for the video for single “Secret Garden” featuring Chicago rapper TINK. While TINK doesn’t make an appearance in the video, her part is played wonderfully nonetheless.
We were not prepared for these gorgeous, soothing sounds from G, the new side project of producer Jimmy Giannopoulos (MOTHXR, LOLAWOLF, Reputante). Creativity overflows on debut single “Outer Space,” a hauntingly melodic tune featuring vocalist Genevieve Schatz and a killer saxophone solo.
Jimmy wrote and recorded the debut single and EP in his Brooklyn apartment with help from engineer/saxophonist Tim Sandusky and MOTHXR bandmate Darren Will on bass guitar. The EP is due out later this year via Innit Recordings.
Jimmy, on making the record: “Using turntables, scratching up tape, noise and melody. Really digging into what made me fall for artists like Edan & J Dilla while having Genevieve splash paint over it.”
